Best for photo-realistic, full colour results for 1 t-shirt or 100.
Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing is a cutting-edge digital printing technique that prints full-color designs directly onto fabric using a specialized inkjet printer. Using eco-friendly, water-based inks, DTG printing bonds seamlessly with cotton and cotton-blend garments, delivering vibrant, high-resolution prints with exceptional detail and color accuracy.
Unlike screen printing, DTG requires no screens or stencils, making it the perfect solution for small-batch printing, custom t-shirts, and on-demand orders. It excels at printing intricate artwork, detailed graphics, and photo-realistic images with unlimited colors. Whether you're a business, brand, or artist, DTG printing offers a cost-effective way to produce high-quality custom apparel without minimum order requirements.
Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing begins with design preparation, where the design is created or finalized using graphic design software. The file should be high-resolution (300 DPI) and in a compatible format like PNG with a transparent background. Colors are optimized for print, and the design is resized to fit the garment specifications.
The garment is prepared by applying a pre-treatment solution, which enhances ink absorption and durability, especially for cotton or cotton-blend fabrics. The fabric is then dried using a heat press to set the pre-treatment and create a smooth, flat surface for printing.
The prepared garment is loaded onto the printer’s platen, carefully aligned to avoid wrinkles. A DTG printer applies the design directly to the fabric using water-based inks for vibrant, accurate results. For darker garments, a white ink base layer is printed first before adding colors.
The printed garment is cured using a heat press or conveyor dryer. This step ensures the ink bonds with the fabric, improving durability and washability, resulting in a high-quality finished product.
